How to Grow Rangoon Creeper

Rangoon Creeper is an aggressive vine that blooms with beautiful, fragrant flowers in either full sun or partial shade.

It is a hardy plant that can thrive in either pot or the ground, providing an eye-catching accent to your landscape or patio area.

It is best to cultivate this plant in partial sun. It will require additional watering as needed.

Picking The Location

Rangoon Creeper thrives best in a sunny location with well-drained fertile soil. These plants require minimal care and maintenance, adding an eye-catching element to any landscape or garden.

This vine has an upright, strong growth habit with a long taproot and sturdy branches that support an abundant cluster of star-shaped blooms. Starting as white, these blooms darken to pink and then red as they mature.

Rangoon Creeper vine can be grown indoors or outdoors, requiring regular watering to bloom properly. It may need to be brought inside in colder climates for winter storage.

Creepers, like Zombies and Skeletons, will ambush players underground or on the surface in low-light areas and explode when killed. However, Creepers are silent (except for footsteps), unlike Zombies and Skeletons, and their explosions can be quite powerful.

Watering

Rangoon Creeper can thrive when properly watered, and its soil always stays dry. So whether you're growing it indoors or outdoors in the garden, always ensure that there is enough moisture present for it to saturate the soil fully.

Stick your finger into the soil to determine if your plant requires water. If the first two to three inches are dry, they could use extra help with hydration.

Grow more of these stunning plants by taking stem cuttings. Place them into a shallow dish or box filled with moistened sand, perlite, or soilless potting mix, and after about one week, you should see thin fibrous roots emerging - at which point you can transplant them into larger pots or outdoors!

Feeding

Rangoon Creeper can be grown indoors in 10" to 14" diameter pots or outdoors in a well-drained soil mix. However, be aware that you may need a larger pot size when your vine becomes root-bound.

This fast-growing plant blooms in summer with trusses of large, tricolored flowers. The white blossoms begin as solid pink and eventually turn red as they mature.

At dusk, the flowers open and attract hawk moths and other long-tongued pollinators. Additionally, they attract day-flying insects such as bees and birds.

Pruning

Pruning helps control the size and shape of plants and removes any parts that could present a safety hazard, interfere with other plants or trees, or are infested with pests. In addition, dead or dying plant parts may rot if left untended, depriving your garden of adequate sunlight and nutrients for healthy growth.

To prune a Rangoon Creeper, use sharp pruning shears (ideally rubbed with alcohol) to trim away branches that are too long or have weak root systems. Cut back branches by up to half their length, allowing them to develop into leaf nodes and new stems when growth resumes in springtime.

To keep your Rangoon Creeper healthy during its growing season, water it regularly. However, don't overwater, as this could lead to root rot.

Blooming

Rangoon Creeper flowers make an eye-catching addition to any garden or flowerbed, blooming from late spring until early summer.

These stunning blooms produce fragrant star-shaped blooms infused with citrus scents. They grow on long and slender vining plants.

These vines typically reach a height of 2.5 meters.

Rangoon Creeper requires regular watering to bloom optimally, as well as well-drained soil. Rangoon Creeper blooms begin as white but eventually turn pink as the plant matures. This color-changing property of these flowers attracts various pollinators.

When watering this plant, use filtered water that is room temperature or slightly warmer. Cold water can cause the leaves to swell and become damaged.
